Time to write

I find myself with time to post. HURRAY!
This week Martin and I are taking a week’s holiday in North Wales  – renting a little cottage perched up a hillside overlooking Anglesey and the Menai strait.
The football is on TV so I am relaxing in a rocking chair with a cup of tea and a book waiting to be read.
Today it rained until about 4pm but we dodged the showers exploring Bangor. The sun came out just as we found the restored pier and we decided to risk a walk along its deserted length. Only 50p in the honesty box towards the upkeep. It’s terribly pretty even on a grayish day.
Stupidly we hadn’t factored in the gale force winds which took our breath away but we made it to the end and back and it certainly blew away any cobwebs from a winter in the office! A breezy walk always ensures an appetite…so back to the cottage for a slow cooker stew and a glass of wine.
Tomorrow the weather looks good according to the interweb so we are planning to visit the Swallow falls and Betwys y Coed and hopefully get in some walking.

Here we are on the pier windswept but happy!

  1. That looks fun! Some of my best vacation memories are of times when the weather was just horrendous, keeping everybody in but my honey and me. Long walk, then a hot dinner–lovely!
